About

Hi, I'm Dustin Kaiser.

My background is in computational chemistry and molecular physics. I worked on quantum chemical modeling, and entropy estimation from molecular simulations. Along the way I collaborated with spectroscopists and experimentalists, and helped elucidate an organic chemistry reaction mechanism.

These days I'm a DevOps engineer at the IT'IS Foundation in Zurich. I work on the infrastructure behind research platforms like sim4life.io, o2S2PARC, and TIP -- cloud deployments, on-premise HPC clusters, CI/CD, and the usual fires. Our scientists use it to apply voltage to human brains and make paraplegic people walk. I keep the lights running and the AWS bill manageable.

Outside of work I run Linux on everything, contribute to open source, and make music.
